Midair Services Limited was first registered in 1984 in London and traded primarily as a brokerage with a special relationship with International Air Leases Inc of Miami, Florida.

Moving rapidly into the role of principal, Midair London, as it became known, purchased a number of Boeing 707-320C aircraft on its own account as an integral part of the Boeing Military (Wichita) KC135E programme. As result, all of Midair's Boeing 707's were traded to Boeing Military during the late 1980's. In addition, Midair became a trader of a large number of Pratt & Whitney JT3D-3B engines and all of Midair's ex airline engines eventually passed into the US Air Force KC135E Tanker Programme.

In addition to its own aircraft, Midair also sold Boeing Military a further fleet JT3D-3B powered aircraft including all of the fleet of Alyemda - Aden (4 B707-320's) , 2 ex-Misr Air Cargo and two ex-Olympic Airways "C" model aircraft which were part of a joint venture between Midair and its frequent partners, Omega Aviation in Ireland.

At the same time, Midair was a 50% partner in a London based finance house, Aerospace Finance Limited. Aerospace's portfolio, as owner and lessor, included two Boeing 747s on lease to QANTAS, four Boeing 737s on lease to Air New Zealand, MAS and Royal Brunei. A further activity at this stage of Midair's history was the lease arrangement and technical supervision of a pair of Air Lanka Lockheed L-1011-500's at British Airways.

Midair and Aerospace Finance's bankers included WestPac Hong Kong, Arbuthnott Latham Merchant Bank, Security Pacific London, General Accident Insurance as well as Concord Asset Management (HSBC Group) and Kanes Plc in London.

In 1989, Midair sold its shares in Aerospace and continued to trade in large engines and aircraft backed by Concord Asset Management (now HSBC Group). Engine transactions included GE CF6-50's, which Midair sold to Alitalia and Willis Group as well as the purchase and lease of a 737 to the TACA Group.

In the 90’s Midair formed an association with Finova Capital Corp in Phoenix, Arizona and its affiliate, Finova Capital Plc in London. In the course of this partnership, Midair's subsidiary, Leopard Leasing Bermuda, bought, overhauled, refurbished and sold or leased five Boeing 737-200's, two MDC DC10s and a Boeing 767-200ER. Effectively Midair S.A. became an aircraft trading and overhaul partner of Finova Group and as such, Midair S.A. has also performed the "P" to "F" conversions on Airbus A300-B4-200’s purchased by Finova and converted at SOGERMA/Toulouse and Singapore Aerospace.

Midair Services Limited was "exported" from the UK in 1994 and became a B.V.I. domiciled corporation (Midair S.A.) and the UK based subsidiary, Midair Aviation Limited (JAR- 145) was sold earlier that year in order to concentrate on large aircraft trading.

Midair's Boeing Commercial Aircraft customer code number is MAI.

Midair S.A. has had a longstanding partnership arrangement with Omega Aviation of Dublin dating back to the mid 1980's and the two companies have technical and managerial staff in line with the requirements of the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) for Irish registered jet transport leasing operations on a world wide basis including JAA and FAA licensed inspectors. These operations are accomplished through Midair Aviation Limited in Dublin, an 80% owned subsidiary of Midair S.A.

In recent times Midair has formed several alliances within Russia, in both the airline and banking sectors, which has resulted in Midair acting in the acquisition of 16 Boeing 747s, 4 Boeing 777s, 6 Boeing 767-300s and some 10 Boeing 737s. During these acquisitions Midair has had the privilege of working with QANTAS, Cathay Pacific, SAA, SR Technics, American Airlines, Singapore Airlines, SABENA Technics, Gulf Air, United Airlines, Air Canada, UT Air, Japan Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, MK Airlines, ILFC, Bank of America, Continental Airlines, Bristol Associates, Martin Air, Egyptair and our associates at Transaero Airlines in Moscow together with VTB Bank.

Bankers to Midair are HSBC Private Bank in the Channel Islands. Retained Lawyers to the company are Eversheds London with English solicitor Mr Humphrey Dawson acting as in house counsel.

Midair's group Technical Director is William (“Billy”) Moore, who holds US FAA License No 126-62-2006. Mr Moore is also Executive Vice President of Midair’s US based subsidiary, Midair USA Inc, in Rome New York.
